[[Spellca will post first since he proposed the challenge. You guys should know the rules. Yer the first ones - show 'em how it's done boys.]] There was a single click of a switch, and the buzz of electricity being fed to somewhere. For the first time in years, the four overhead lights were given life again, illuminating the spectacle of an arena down below. Four platforms, four bridges, countless square footage. From the many stories in the sky, Tyler saw everything like a bird's eye view. And he grinned sadistically. --- Hours later, the crowd had come to the re-opening of the competition known simply as the R.H.G. The stands were practically full - discount tickets for the first battle that could very well fall flat on its face. Tyler didn't care - money was money, entertainment was entertainment. Most of the spectators hadn't lost much if it did turn out to be a flop. Improvements definitely had been made in comparison to the attempt so many years ago. The four lights at the top circled around the arena in whatever pattern they so chose as the announcer - from apparently nowhere - began those far too long introductions.
"Welcome to the first ever Arr-Aych-Gee competition!" At that, the crowd went wild with cheers, eliciting a smile from even the more serious body-guard Tyler had beside him. "Sponsored by the Leviathan Stadium with support from The Underground, these bouts are to the last, man, standing." Again a pause, during which the noises of the crowd kept up their usual volume that would probably never die down. "Our first fighter comes from the shadows of forgotten pasts. Standing six-foot-three inches tall, he weighed in at two-hundred ten pounds. His first fight in the arena, Gaaaiiius, Septimuuuuuus!" There was an explosion of cheering as the vampire - however he did - made his way into the arena. The announcer never missed a beat and continued on with the introductions: "And his opponent, a beaten down ex-circus performer. He stands five-feet-eleven inches tall, and weighed in at one-hundred ninety pounds. Also his first time in the arena, Aaaaarron, Satruuuuus!"
Some moments after both fighters had been introduced, the sound of a bell rung out from the speaker systems and around the arena. The start of the first and only round.

Gaius looked around the arena smirked as he jumped down from the medium-deck of the stands to the arena floor. It was night, as appropriate for such an event so he wouldn't have to factor in how sunlight would affect his fighting abilities. The bright lights spawned of the electrical currents, are nothing compared to the sun - they do not both such creatures.
As his name was spoken, and the cheers answered, Gaius wondered if he actual had fans or if it was just the civilian bloodlust being unleashed upon the areana. He had no intentions of going down at all, let alone with a fight. He cracked his neck backwards and unleashed a low grunt as the cheers settled down to silence and the announcer spoke the name of his would be adversary.
Aaron Satrus... He thought. Circus... Gaius saw his opponent enter, how ever he did, and smirked. "A Lizardman? I was almost certain your breed of swamp-living beasts had been extinct after the last Arc War two-hundred years ago. It seems your kind survived somehow and what good fortune it is...I always wanted the chance to taste of blood of such a species."
Gaius's right arm reached back and his pale, clawed hand grasped the hilt of his long sword that sat upon his back. His arm rose and the glinting grey that was the blade revealed itself to the crowd and reflected the arena lights. His arm came down and settled with the blade about an inch above the arena's floor and he placed his body in a sort of releaxed stance. He had no intention of charging his opponent just yet, even with the chance of him being superior in speed.
The bell sounded... "Come now, beast. Surely you are here for a fight?"

Aaron stared at his opponent and was amazed. This thing has Vampire written all over him. His voice was surprised mixed with spite. Time to show what he can do.
"I hope that the God of war, Aries, with save you from the wrath of my axe!" Aaron said.
The crowd grew silent. They had expected a lizard language, not the tongue of man. Aaron looked at his opponent again.

"Fine, unleash your god's wrath upon me. I have dealt with radicals driven by theology before, they all die the same way - asking why they were forsaken." Gaius wasn't surprised at the human speech, Lizardmen had been extinct in the eyes of experts for two-hundred years now - one popping up with some odd traits should be expected.
His sword raised and pointed at his foe. "I said, unless thy wrath. But be warned, a god - considering your being of bloodlust, even exists beyond your shattered psyche - isn't a fool. It will relinquish its good will from those it deems no longer worthy. Now, give this god war then. Draw my blood in his name."

Aaron thought for a second that the beast was in fact a really warrior from the past. Aaron didn't charge. He instead stared at the ground were sand was the terrain.
"Beautiful sand isn't it? Reminds me of the sand along the Aegean Sea. I learned a neat trick while I was a runaway. I show you now."
Aaron focused on the sand around his feet turning into a volley of darts. Then he focus them into glass darts. Then he focus on firing them at Gaius.

Geokinesis...no, a sub-branch of the art. Precise sand-manipulation to the point of manipulation and pressurization. But, glass darts aren't darts but rather simple shards of glass turned into projectiles. They are slower and not as aerodynamic. Child's play. A sword slash went to the right upward towards the sky. One dart was caught in slash and shattered. Similar slashed cut up the other darts before the last one wizzed past Gaius's head as he titled it accordingly. It shattered against the backwall.
"Nice trick. You aren't the only one with crowd-pleasing techniques." Gaius adjusted his grip and tightened it. His feet went on his toes and he darted toward, covering the division between them. He appeared a foot from the lizard with weapon raised shining against the lights. The dust bellowed behind him in a short mound as he executed his attack.
Gaius' sword flew downward upon the head of his opponent. The air's resistance was nil compared to the strength of the arm and the sharp edge of steel. All resistance was divided across the edge and whipped opposate ways as the glinting blade flew downward.

Aaron saw the slash hack the sand darts. The glass harmlessly turned back into sand. Now he saw the sword fly down. No, He thought, I won't die. Not now not EVER!
With that, The sand below Gaius made a fist and flew up, smashing into the opponent and flinging him back from some feet up in the air.

Gaius landed a short distance away. He brushed the sand off of his suit and smirked. "That is all you can do, lizard is throw sand around?" Gaius jumped up to one of the four platforms that floating above the area. "I have the high ground, how about you stop playing with sand and we can actually give these people the fight they wanted to see? I am not going to keep running into your element. Come and face me on even footing or you might as well walk away in shame." The crowd roared as Gaius spoke.
The breeze whipped at Gaius as he looked down at the arena floor and at the lizard that stood amoung his piles of sand. Gaius made a gesture with his hand to silence the crowd. "Enough of that!" He commanded the public. "Save your cries for blood to when one of us lays bleeding..."
Gaius looked at the lizard directly. "I'll pity you..." He lifted his sword from his side and placed the left bladed edge against the palm of his left hand. The glinting knife pressed inward and slid downward for a second. Blood ran along the silverish pane and assimilated at the handguard - some of it spilling over and running down the hilt. Drops of crimson blood ran on the left palm, down the digits and then falling off into the oblivion that was the open air. The red dots speckled the sand below. "One wound, a handicap for you, good beat. This is the only wound I intend on suffering." He raised his hand displaying the wound to the crowd - silence overtook them, they were waiting until one of them sat defeated to cheer again.
That Gaius guy is insane...slicing open his hand like that... One spectator thought...

"I am Aaron Satrus, once a warrior in my tribe, now the last of my kind. I will fight you on even ground, for that is the honorable to do."
Aaron faced his opponent.
"If I die at your hands, I will be grateful. Now we fight like men!"
And with that, Aaron took out his axe and jumped at Gauis.

As the creature moved to match Gaius, Gaius planned out his next move. The advantage of an axe is brute cutting force...but when used as a one-handed weapons it is more like a hatchet. It has no range 6 inches past the forearm of the wielder. I poorly trained warrior could lose his arm wielding such an axe without care. I will take this lizard's arm. Gaius wrapped his bleeding hand around the hilt finally grasping his long sword with both his hands.
He waited as his opponent drew closer. It would be foolish to rush a man best suited for close-combat.

Aaron ran towards Gaius, his axe at hand. With each step Aaron took, the axe head became longer and longer from the sand. When Aaron was born, they made him weld an axe. In the circus, they taught Aaron how to frighten any opponent. While on the run, he learned to wield sand. In his Gladiator group, he mastered the art of the shield. Aaron felt that his opponent had mastered the sword.
Aaron had kept his scale frill down, but as he used his tail to spring to his enemy, He made a loud "GRAAAAAAA!" and his frill went up.
It was to be an epic clash.

Gaius smirked and turned whipping his sword to clasp with the axe and shield before the lizard had the chance to swing his weapon as an attack. This reduced his foe's momentum and the stopping power of the axe instantly. The vampire clashed his weapon across the metallic weapons a second time sending sparks flying as he slid quickly below the lizard's feet as it remained in mid-spring. Rising to his feet, the tip of the sword ran up the lizard's waving frill (the mane) and drawing some blood before Gaius stepped back.
"Close..."

Aaron was still in the air when he was slashed by Gaius. Still using his slower momentum,he turned around and almost created a slash in the vampire's back from his axe, instead he hit steel and cringed.

[[Gaius slipped underneath Aaron's legs while Aaron was in mid-flight, then stood up and turned around (simultaneously) and struck the back of Aaron. Presumably Aaron turned around at the same time and their weapons clashed instead. There wasn't any back strike in that case. Also, remember guys: It's always an attempt at a strike or dodge.]]

This would be harder then I thought. He mentally confessed. The sword took a heavy blow and Gaius withdrew the sword from the lizard's immediate striking range to keep it in tact. Time for Plan B.
Gaius' hand wound had already healed over. It was more of a intimidation tactic then an actual handicap. It gave the crowd a show and he knew that a pissed off businessmen would curse themselves for turning their bets against him when he acted in a rash manner. He spun his sword around and over his head before settling it in his scabbard on his back. He had put away his only actual weapon.
"Honor is to it to be slain by the sword. But I don't feel like being honorable any longer..." He adjusted his hands to have his claws glint against the beaming lights and his fangs revealed themselves to the freshness of the night. "I said I wanted to taste the blood of your kind..." He chuckled. "I wasn't kidding. Ever see a vampire rip open someone's throat? You would need quick reaction time to even see it coming, let alone dodge it." He removed the scabbard from his back and threw it aside along with the cloak he was wearing. It was just a pale man in a simple black suit. "Without the extra weight, this shouldn't last longer then a few seconds."
Gaius looked up at the sky and then around the arena. "Call to any clergy in the crowd, lizard. Let them give you last rites before I leave you slain. I don't know how Ares treats his failures...but I doubt you would be taken to kindly." Gaius dashed forward his eyes following the arms of his target, if there was going to be a slash with that axe, he would foresee it.

(OOC: Be you didn't see this coming.)
Aaron stepped to the side when Gaius came, but instead of slashing, he rammed the head of the vampire (which was no surprise for him, Aaron had guessed it from the beginning) with his head.

Gaius saw no swing, the head came crashing towards him. He glanced it off his shoulder and on the rebound grabbed the lizard's muzzle in his vamparic grip. A grip that could easily bend steel pressed down upon the lizard's maw. "What was this attempt? A headbutt? Really, your only instinct was to send the one thing you would protect in combat at your opponent. Pathetic worm."
Gaius send his knee flying towards the chest of the lizard, an impact would surely shatter ribs and there was almost no chance an impact wouldn't occur considering Gaius had pulled the lizard towards him.

Aaron knew that his end was close, and yet as the knee flew towards his chest, He felt the rush of sand around him. Before long, the sand made a chest amour that reduced the damage of the blow by a lot. Aaron's chest still hurt, but his ribs where fine. Aaron also slashed at Gaius's chest, hopefully creating a cut in the stomach.

God-damn sand...this lizard has survived yet again because a sideshow trick. I need to step this up a bit and end this battle before this animal gets another shot at protecting itself. Gaius then saw the glint of the axe, the lizard didn't even plan his move. He just swung in desperation. Gaius had to either release the monster from his grasp and get out of the range completely, or just lean back a bit to just be grazed by the attack. He didn't feel like letting go so he decided to tank the hit.
The blade slid across Gaius's stomach, it was a scratch: nothing worse. "Almost won..." Gaius send his fist swirling towards the side of the the lizard's head as his grip on the beast's muzzle remained firm. Contact would mean a knock out...if not death due to a crushed temple.

Aaron was a lizardman. Lizardmen law says that you must never use your teeth as a weapon, unless it was a dire emergency.
This was a dire emergency.
Aaron tried to bite Gaius's arm that was holding his head.

The beast's maw ripped from his grasp. It wasn't an increase in power...more of a survivalist rush to get free. He saw it was willing to chomp down on his arm and he let the jagged array of teeth. Gaius' face remained stone cold, not even a flinch as the bladed teeth of the monster ripped through his flesh before settling in his muscles as blood pooled around each white fang.
"Hmmm..." Gaius smirked. "You should do your research before attacking so blindly." Gaius laughed. "There is a reason vampires who feed on other vampires violate cardinal vampire laws. Not only is a trait of the unethical beast but our blood is also sour and poisonous to most other races. My research in my spare time states that most of the lizardman race was killed off prior the war 200 years ago due to a confrontation with a large clan of vampires. The lizardmen attempted to feed on the corpses of the few vampires they mangaged to slay and died shortly after injesting their flesh and blood."
Gaius ripped his arm from the beast's mouth. It tore up his flesh pretty badly but nothing his healing factor and the local infirmary couldn't clean up in a matter of hours. "I suggest standing down, lizard. If you do not get medical care in the next half an hour, your body could start to shut down due to injesting my blood."

[[OOC: lizardman stomach is pretty strong but is vulnerable to powerful toxins.]]
Aaron smirked. "I didn't ingest, only bit. Besides, They forced me to eat poison at the circus. My stomach is a lot stronger than the average lizardman or else I wouldn't be here."
Aaron smirked. " the time has come. Take out your sword or I will cut your head out." Aaron begain to spin at FTH( Faster than human) speed and gathering all the sand in the arena to create a massive sandstorm.
Meanwhile, in the crowd, A mysterious figure was watching intently at the battle between Gaius and Aaron. Musha Karno thought hard on the names. Septimus was an old noble state that was destroyed 600 years ago. He had met a man named Gaius Septimus a few centuries back. Satrus was even more surprising. He had freed Satrus and taught him to focus his element to be used in battle.
"I'd like to join this RHG." Musha Said in a deep baritone voice. He left for the Sign up area.
