The crowds were still roaring as the previous fight wrapped itself up, the entire stadium flashing once again to its original state like magic. Every single person in the stadium seemed to be in an uproar, demanding bloodshed and violence. There was, however, a major problem that had started becoming more prevalent: fighters didn't want to die. Some still kept going, some debated on leaving but stayed after being reassured about the regenerative process. Much of the religious and spiritual folk, though, ended up disappearing. It was as if the program suddenly had a heart attack, going downhill at no particular point yet at a striking rate.
As the announcer once again made the lengthy segue into the next fight, the lights shone on the southern gate, expecting the entrance of the first combatant. Of course, it took them a moment before the people operating the devices seemed to click into a magical revelation and focused on the centre of the arena. Patiently sitting on the lip of the 'pit', Tyler seemed happily in his own little world, rocking back and forth and apparently singing - though one would never be able to hear him. Were one able to look close enough, they would see the cause - a pair of black headphones stuffed into his ears. Of course, he could still hear the announcement - sans the awkward pause that had preceded it in his previous bout. He knew, at the very least, that the people he hired were somewhat competent not to mess up a second time.
Facing the northern entrance, he watched only briefly as the lights shot to the gate, the blue-cyan orbs closing as he sang quite happily and continued rocking. He was still listening through the music, and the announcement of his opponent - a Gaius Septimus. On first glance, the man would probably think Tyler to not be a combatant - save for the sword by his side, he seemed to be there enjoying the mere act of singing rather than getting ready to fight. Tyler, of course, wouldn't actually do anything besides that until Gaius got close enough or said anything - or the bell rung, granted his opponent did neither of the former. At that point, he'd calmly stand up from the edge of that pit and pluck the headphones from his ears, casually replacing them in his coat pocket, while the Kapanese-esque sword remained sheathed on his waist.

((Excuse my lack of posting...))
Gaius entered the area and saw his opponent sit across the way. Gaius leaned against the wall and called out. "I do my research Mr. Dreacon. I suggest you end the ruse of being all peaceful and what not so we can get down to business." Gaius drew his sword and curved a shape into the dust. It was crude measurements based on distance and possible speeds. It was a quite extimation of his chances of delivering a blow by rushing across the area, at his top speed and he factored in what he heard about his opponent. My chances are slim...
The bell rang.
I'll let him make the first move, it may not be the best choice but it may be the only choice at this point.

With the music playing from his headphones and the crowd being as loud as they usually were, it was a miracle that Tyler could hear anything at all. His selective hearing - or, at the least, the part of his hearing that sensed differences in noises around him - did catch wind of what Gaius called out. Granted, it was fairly drowned out by the time it crossed the distance betwixt them and found a cosy spot in Tyler's ear canal, which was exactly why his right hand shot up and pulled both the headphones out with a simple tug of the main cord. For a brief, fleeting moment, he looked at Gaius with an apparently confused look on his face, as if asking, "what did you say?" Yet that moment evidently passed as soon as he stuffed the buds into his left pocket and started shaking his head.
"Man, you take it too seriously," he called back, picking himself up from the edge of the pit with the fluidity of a rock. Casually dusting off the back of his dark blue pants and black duster coat, he seemed to stretch his arms out to a 'T' shape, his left hand still holding the sheathed weapon. Slowly, his arms lowered, and he made his way to the corner of the pit so that, if he wanted to charge, it would no longer be in his way. Not too long after that - a second or two at the most - the bell rung to signal the start of their fight. Tyler, being the patient counter-attack type that he was accustomed to, pulled his sword from its sheath, holding it loosely by his side in his right hand as his left dropped the sheath without a touch of elegance. The hard plastic brought up a puff of smoke by his black shoes, and Tyler did nothing else.
And the same went for his opponent. For a few moments, they both seemed to stand there, and it was almost comical. Gaius, smoothly dressed and "beautiful" as the female opinion would go, with pale skin and smoothed back hair and green-yellow eyes. Across from him was Tyler, dressed in the most plain-clothes appearance possible, with roughly brushed forward hair and cyan-blue eyes that seemed to stare into the vampire's proverbial soul, were he to be in possession of one. The wait was starting to make the younger man impatient, who casually lifted his weapon up and rested the blunt side of it against his shoulder, emphasizing the 'hurry up, I'm bored' appearance. "Not gonna make the first move, eh?" he asked casually, yawning before he seemed to go into action mode quite spontaneously. From his shoulder, he spun his weapon around a single three-sixty-degree-and-some-more circle until the tip of the weapon pointed at Gaius. He took a good step back with his right foot, making the blade run along his shoulders in front of his chest, placing his left side - with arm partially outstretched - toward Gaius. With knees slightly bent, there was a small smile on the younger man's face as he stared the vampire down in his battle pose.
"Fine..."
With that, he charged. His lower half shifted about ninety degrees counter-clockwise so that his legs were in a more prime running stance, while his upper body stayed in pretty much the same position, save for his free hand that had now pressed against the side of the weapon to apparently steady it. Being human and not really sprinting at full speed, along with Gaius' superhuman traits, it would appear to take a proverbial month of Sundays before he actually got there. Providing he stayed at the same velocity, anyway. Somewhere in the vicinity of ten seconds passed before Tyler covered two-thirds of the distance between them. The calculations were easy - another five seconds to cover the remaining who-knows-how-many feet. Of course, were Gaius spending the time to mull that calculation over, he'd find something off about the facts. Actually, a few things. First was the sudden burst of blue-indigo smoke that began to trail behind Tyler's sword in tendrils rather than clouds, which disappeared soon afterwards. Second would be the sudden and rapid increase in Tyler's velocity. Instead of five seconds, it took less than a full second for Tyler to get into Gaius' face. The younger man obviously had it planned and calculated himself, as the smoke emanating from his sword 'turned off' at the same moment that he brought the sword over his head, aiming for a full-circle counter-clockwise strike at about waist level from Gaius' left side.
The laws of physics had something to say about Tyler stopping on a dime from that point on, though. If he missed with his strike, either by Gaius side-stepping a fair distance to get out of the way of the insane swing (which would complete a circle and cover both the left and right sides as much as it covered the centre) or by Gaius jumping over him, Tyler would spin around counter-clockwise to face Gaius again, momentum carrying him a good ten feet beyond the point that he attempted the strike - obviously his ability was something not so easily controlled. If Gaius were to block the attack with a side-step, the only thing that would change would be Tyler's resultant spin, which would turn out to be clockwise instead - making a back-sweep with his sword as he would fight to keep his balance. The stupid thing for Gaius to do would be to step backwards out of the range of the sword, as Tyler's momentum would easily plough the older vampire over, despite that part of the attack not even being planned.
At the very least, though, the first move had been made and Tyler had not put himself in too compromising of a situation.
